Diary of Dreams powstał w 1989 roku jako projekt Adriana Hatesa, który wziął nazwę od niewielkiej kompozycji na gitarę klasyczną „Tagebuch der Träume”. W 1994 roku, po kilku demach nagrań, z których żadne nie spełniało wysokich standardów muzycznych Adriana, Diary of Dreams wydali swój debiutancki album Cholymelan. Zebrał entuzjastyczne recenzje w prasie i podbił serca wielu melomanów zamiłowaniem do mroczniejszych brzmień. Do tej pory Diary of Dreams może pochwalić się 26 różnymi wydawnictwami, w tym DVD, kilkoma singlami, dwiema EP-kami, docenionym przez krytyków albumem akustycznym i 12 regularnymi albumami studyjnymi, takimi jak nowatorski Nigredo z legendarną sesją zdjęciową na Islandii czy niezwykle udane najnowsze wydanie, Hell in Eden.

Cieszący się dużym uznaniem fanów również za teksty, Hates jest dobrze znany ze swojego metaforycznego języka oraz ekspresyjnych i niejednoznacznych opisów spraw, o których myśli. Pisze głównie po angielsku, ale czasami także po niemiecku – mówi, że wybór języka zależy zwykle od samej piosenki. Podczas gdy skład Diary of Dreams przeszedł wiele zmian, mastermind i piosenkarz Adrian Hates coraz bardziej zbliżali się do swojej wizji projektu, a tym samym do swoich marzeń. Od pierwszej nuty z Diary zespół zagrał już około 500 koncertów w prawie 40 krajach i końca nie widać. Według Adriana będzie to ostatnia rzecz, jaką zrobi w swoim życiu. Życie z muzyką i dla muzyki.

Oczywiście zaprezentowane zostaną nowe utwory, ale także nowe i urozmaicone spojrzenie na dotychczasową muzyczną historię... Długa przerwa koncertowa dosłownie zagłodziła zespół, oczekiwania są ogromne i w 2023 roku zostanie rozładowany skoncentrowaną energią na żywo. Możesz spodziewać się, że zespół będzie grał na najwyższych obrotach – i wreszcie nowy rozdział w Diary of Dreams!

Diary of Dreams at Kwadrat

Diary of Dreams was founded in 1989 as a project of Adrian Hates, which took its name from a small composition for classical guitar, “Tagebuch der Träume.” In 1994, after several recording demos, none of which met Adrian’s high musical standards, Diary of Dreams released their debut album “Cholymelan.” It garnered rave reviews in the press and won the hearts of many music lovers with his penchant for darker sounds. To date, Diary of Dreams boasts 26 different releases, including a DVD, several singles, two EPs, a critically acclaimed acoustic album and 12 regular studio albums, such as the innovative Nigredo with its legendary photo shoot in Iceland and the hugely successful latest release, Hell in Eden.

Highly respected by fans for his lyrics as well, Hates is well known for his metaphorical language and expressive and ambiguous descriptions of the things he thinks about. He writes mostly in English, but sometimes in German as well – he says the choice of language usually depends on the song itself. As the Diary of Dreams line up went through many changes, its mastermind and singer Adrian Hates got closer and closer to his vision for the project, and thus to his dreams. Since the first note from Diary, the band has already played some 500 concerts in nearly 40 countries, and there is no end in sight. According to Adrian, this will be the last thing he does in his life. Living with and for music.

New songs will be presented, of course, but also a new and varied look at the musical history to date... The long concert hiatus has starved the band, expectations are high and it will be unloaded with concentrated live energy in 2023.
