Noc Cracovia Sacra 2024 / Cracovia Sacra Night

Aniołom, archaniołom, serafinom i cherubinom. poświęcona jest tegoroczna edycja wydarzenia, którego scenerią są krakowskie oraz podkrakowskie kościoły, klasztory i muzea.
Szesnaście koncertów, dwanaście wystaw tematycznych, ekspozycje muzealne, klasztorne zakamarki, ogrody i gra miejska  –  tak imponująco bogaty jest program tegorocznej edycji Nocy Cracovia Sacra.
Jak słusznie zauważają organizatorzy: „Aniołowie pojawiają się na kartach Starego i Nowego Testamentu, w Apokryfach, czyli niekanonicznych ewangeliach, w żywotach świętych, pismach Ojców Kościoła, byli również podmiotami rozważań wybitnych teologów oraz obrad synodów. W teologii i sztuce aniołowie pełnią rozmaite, istotne funkcje, pojawiając się pod różnymi określeniami, czasem z imionami. Przybierają rozmaite postaci, zaludniają kościoły i kaplice, obrazy religijne. Byli i są otaczani czcią i szacunkiem, a nawet kultem.”
Uroczysta inauguracja Nocy Cracovia Sacra zaplanowana jest na 14 sierpnia o godz. 20.00 w klasztorze oo. Karmelitów na Piasku (scena plenerowa w ogrodzie klasztornym), a wydarzenie uświetni widowisko muzyki słowa i obrazu pt. Cherubiński wędrowiec w wykonaniu artystów Piwnicy św. Norberta. Wstęp na wszystkie wydarzenia jest bezpłatny, na niektóre obowiązują bezpłatne wejściówki – szczegóły w programie.

Angels, archangels, seraphims and cherubs are the main focus of this year's event organised in churches, monasteries and museums in Krakow and the surrounding area.
Sixteen concerts, twelve thematic exhibitions, museum installations, the hidden corners of monasteries, gardens, and an urban game – these are all part of the impressive programme of this year's Sacra Night in Krakow.
The organisers rightly note that "Angels appear on pages of the Old and New Testaments, in the Apocrypha, or non-canonical gospels, in the lives of saints, the writings of the Church Fathers. They were also the subjects of deliberations of prominent theologians and synods. In theology and art, angels have a variety of important functions, appearing under various terms, sometimes with names. They take a variety of forms, populating churches and chapels, and religious paintings. They were and are surrounded by reverence and respect, even worship.”
The ceremonial inauguration of the Cracovia Sacra Night will take place on 14 August at 8:00 pm at the Carmelite Monastery at Piasek (open-air stage in the monastery garden), and the event will be graced by a show of words, images and music – The Cherubinic Wanderer, performed by artists of the Cellar of St. Norbert.
