HOOVERPHONIC – belgijscy mistrzowie trip hopu wracają do Polski!/ HOOVERPHONIC - the Belgian masters of trip hop are returning to Poland!

Na rynku fonograficznym debiutowali w 1996 albumem studyjnym pt. „A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular”, który wydali jako Hoover. Następnie zmienili nazwę zespołu i do 2021 wydali jeszcze dziesięć albumów. Pięć wydanych przez nich płyt (w tym jedna koncertowa i jedna kompilacyjna) dotarło na szczyt listy najchętniej kupowanych albumów w Belgii. Za sprzedaż swoich płyt i singli otrzymali jedną podwójnie platynową płytę, pięć platynowych i sześć złotych.Ich debiutancki album "A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular" (1996) wprowadził słuchaczy w marzycielskie brzmienie trip-hopowe i zyskał uznanie krytyków.

To jednak "The Magnificent Tree" przyniosło Hooverphonic prawdziwy międzynarodowy sukces. Album, wydany w 2000 roku, zawierał takie hity jak "Mad About You" i "Vinegar & Salt", które stały się mainstreamowymi przebojami i ugruntowały pozycję zespołu w przemyśle muzycznym. Z eterycznymi wokalami Geike Arnaert na pierwszym planie, "The Magnificent Tree" stanowił znaczący kamień milowy w karierze Hooverphonic, pokazując ich talent do pisania piosenek i ewolucję muzyczną. Mieszanka trip-hopu, popu i elementów orkiestrowych oczarowała publiczność na całym świecie, przynosząc zespołowi powszechne uznanie i oddaną bazę fanów.

W 2021 zespół wystąpił z utworem „The Wrong Place” w Konkursie Eurowizji. 18 maja wystąpili jako 11 w kolejności startowej w pierwszym półfinale i z dziewiątego miejsca awansowali do finału, który odbył się 22 maja.

They made their debut on the recording market in 1996 with the studio album “A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular,” released under the name Hoover. They later changed the band’s name and went on to release ten more albums by 2021. Five of their releases (including one live album and one compilation) reached the top of the best-selling albums chart in Belgium. For the sales of their albums and singles, they received one double-platinum record, five platinum records, and six gold records. Their debut album “A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular” (1996) introduced listeners to a dreamy trip-hop sound and earned critical acclaim.

However, it was “The Magnificent Tree” that brought Hooverphonic true international success. Released in 2000, the album included hits such as “Mad About You” and “Vinegar & Salt,” which became mainstream hits and solidified the band’s position in the music industry. With Geike Arnaert’s ethereal vocals at the forefront, “The Magnificent Tree” marked a major milestone in Hooverphonic’s career, showcasing their songwriting talent and musical evolution. The blend of trip hop, pop, and orchestral elements captivated audiences worldwide, earning the band widespread recognition and a devoted fan base.

In 2021, the band performed the song “The Wrong Place” at the Eurovision Song Contest. On May 18, they performed 11th in the running order in the first semi-final and advanced to the final from ninth place. The final took place on May 22.
