The Master and Margarita – an adaptation of Mikhail Bulgakov’s iconic novel, directed by Paweł Passini, on the Main Stage of the Ludowy Theatre!

Drawing on the prose of the Russian writer, Passini seeks to unravel the mystery of Bulgakov himself, whose various incarnations – Ivan Homeless, the Master, and Matthew Levi – appear in the performance. Who is the man for whom Margarita sacrificed everything and sold her soul to the devil? Was Bulgakov’s disbelief more metaphysical than the faith of many a believer? And ultimately, what is the role of art in a world ruled by money and bureaucracy?
