30. Wielkanocny Festiwal Ludwiga van Beethovena

Beethoven. Przełom klasycyzmu i romantyzmu – pod tym szyldem odbywa się jubileuszowa, 30. edycja Wielkanocnego Festiwalu Ludwiga van Beethovena, który choć od dawna zadomowiony w jest Warszawie, co roku wraca do korzeni i miasta, w którym powstał.

Hasło odzwierciedlają również koncerty festiwalu w Filharmonii Krakowskiej, które programowo rozciągają się od Haydna i Mozarta (jego Koncert Es-dur na dwa fortepiany zagrają bracia Hyuk i Hyo Lee, towarzyszyć im będą Orkiestra Akademii Beethovenowskiej i dyrygent Jean-Luc Tingaud) do Brahmsa i Chaussona, odkrywanego na nowo francuskiego kompozytora zmarłego z końcem XIX wieku.

Obecne będą również dzieła patrona festiwalu: w jego słynnej V Symfonii usłyszymy Sinfoniettę Cracovię prowadzoną przez Jong-Jie Yina, zwycięzcę XI Konkursu Dyrygentów im. Grzegorza Fitelberga, a Koncert skrzypcowy D-dur, jeden z najwspanialszych przykładów gatunku, zaprezentują znakomita niemiecka solistka Arabella Steinbacher i Sinfonieorchester Lichtenstein pod batutą Dawida Runtza.

Na wystawie manuskryptów muzycznych w Bibliotece Jagiellońskiej wśród bezcennych zbiorów dawnej Pruskiej Biblioteki Państwowej w Berlinie zobaczymy m.in. rękopisy dzieł wykonywanych podczas koncertów, a wernisaż uświetni występ Książek Piano Duo.

Beethoven: A Turning Point Between Classicism and Romanticism — this is the theme of the jubilee, 30th edition of the Easter Festival of Ludwig van Beethoven. Although long established in Warsaw, the festival returns each year to its roots and to the city where it was founded.

The theme is also reflected in the festival concerts at the Kraków Philharmonic, whose programs span from Haydn and Mozart (his E-flat major Concerto for Two Pianos will be performed by the Lee brothers, Hyuk and Hyo, accompanied by the Beethoven Academy Orchestra under the baton of Jean-Luc Tingaud) to Brahms and Chausson, a French composer from the late 19th century who is now being rediscovered.

Works by the festival’s patron will also be featured. In his famous Symphony No. 5, we will hear Sinfonietta Cracovia conducted by Jong-Jie Yin, winner of the 11th Grzegorz Fitelberg International Conductors’ Competition. Meanwhile, the Violin Concerto in D major—one of the finest examples of the genre—will be performed by the outstanding German soloist Arabella Steinbacher, accompanied by the Sinfonieorchester Liechtenstein under the direction of Dawid Runtz.

At the exhibition of musical manuscripts in the Jagiellonian Library, among the priceless holdings of the former Prussian State Library in Berlin, visitors will be able to see, among other treasures, original manuscripts of works performed during the concerts. The opening will be enhanced by a performance from the Książek Piano Duo.
