Cracow Art Week KRAKERS 2026

Cracow Art Week to ewolucja projektu Cracow Gallery Weekend KRAKERS, który od 2012 roku promuje sztukę współczesną w przestrzeni Krakowa, tworzy platformę komunikacyjną, edukacyjną, informacyjną i promocyjną oraz miejsce spotkań ośrodków sztuki niezależnej i mieszkańców miasta.

Temat przewodni jubileuszowej edycji projektu to „Łowcy, zbieracze, praktycy przyszłości”. Miasto zmienia się nieustannie na naszych oczach, niekiedy w sposób ciągły i ledwo wyczuwalny, a innymi razy skokowy: kolejne dzielnice ulegają gentryfikacji, a wystawki meblowe na chodnikach odsłaniają warstwy niegdysiejszej codzienności. Na targowiskach można łatwo znaleźć pamiątki dawnego świata – porcelanowe figurki, wyblakłe fotografie, elementy rozmontowanych opowieści. W parkach i na podmiejskich łąkach wciąż trafiamy na ślady tego, co było: zagubione przedmioty, szczątki infrastruktury, materialne resztki zapomnianych historii. Artyści i artystki czerpią z tych rozproszonych znaków jak metaforyczni łowcy – nie polując na zwierzynę, lecz tropiąc możliwe światy. To, co uda się im „upolować” w zasobach przeszłości, przetwarzają i łączą w nowe konstelacje, zwiastując przyszłość, która dopiero się wyłania.

Cracow Art Week is an evolution of the Cracow Gallery Weekend KRAKERS project, which since 2012 has been promoting contemporary art in the Krakow space, creating a platform for communication, education, information, and promotion, as well as a meeting place for independent art centres and the city's inhabitants.

The theme for the anniversary edition of the project is 'Hunters, gatherers, practitioners of the future'. The city is constantly changing before our eyes, sometimes continuously and barely perceptibly, and at other times in leaps and bounds: neighbourhoods are being gentrified, and furniture displays on the pavements are revealing layers of formerly everyday life. It is easy to find old-world memorabilia in markets – porcelain figurines, faded photographs, elements of dismantled stories. In parks and suburban meadows we still come across traces of what was – lost objects, remains of infrastructure, material remnants of forgotten histories. Male and female artists draw on these scattered signs like metaphorical hunters – not hunting for game, but tracking down possible worlds. What they manage to 'hunt down' in the resources of the past, they process and combine into new constellations, heralding a future that is yet to emerge.
