Kunszt i fach. Kraków rzemieślników - wystawa/ exhibition

Muzeum Krakowa zaprasza na wystawę, która odkrywa przed nami świat dawnych krakowskich rzemieślników. Wystawa opowiada o wzajemnym wpływie miasta i członków tej dużej i zróżnicowanej majątkowo grupy mieszkańców.

Na początku wystawy podążamy kolejnymi etapami rzemieślniczej kariery zawodowej (I. Cech, II. Od ucznia do mistrza, III. W warsztacie), następnie prezentujemy cech jako organizację z funkcjami sądowniczymi i wyborczymi (IV. Na zebraniu i w gospodzie), ale też obyczaje towarzyszące zwoływaniu na zebranie i przebiegowi posiedzeń, a także wspólnemu biesiadowaniu.

Wystawa opowiada też o metodach regulacji i kontroli wyrobów rzemieślniczych przez cechy i miasto (V Kontrola materiałów, miar i wag. limity sprzedaży), a także o społecznych aspektach cechów jako bractw religijnych (VI Życie religijne w cechu dotyczy). Z życiem religijnym, ale także obywatelskim wiążą się publiczne wystąpienia rzemieślników tzw. pod chorągwią (VII Procesje i pochody. Reprezentacja).

Na koniec prezentujemy przykłady patriotyzmu lokalnego i postaw obywatelskich oraz wkładu w kulturę i rozwój kraju (VIII Udział rzemieślników w dziejach miasta i narodu).

The Muzeum Krakowa invites you to an exhibition that reveals the world of Kraków’s craftsmen of the past. It tells the story of the mutual influence between the city and this large, socially and economically diverse group of its residents.

At the beginning of the exhibition, visitors follow the successive stages of a craftsman’s professional career (I. The Guild, II. From Apprentice to Master, III. In the Workshop). This is followed by a presentation of the guild as an organization with judicial and electoral functions (IV. At the Meeting and in the Tavern), including the customs associated with convening meetings, conducting proceedings, and shared feasting.

The exhibition also explores the methods used by guilds and the city to regulate and control craft production (V. Control of Materials, Measures, and Weights; Sales Limits), as well as the social aspects of guilds as religious brotherhoods (VI. Religious Life within the Guild). Religious and civic life are further reflected in public appearances of craftsmen under their banners (VII. Processions and Parades: Representation).

Finally, the exhibition presents examples of local patriotism, civic attitudes, and the contributions of craftsmen to culture and the development of the city and the nation (VIII. Craftsmen in the History of the City and the Nation).
