Kraków – miasto o tysiącletniej tradycji, dawna siedziba polskich królów i stolica kraju, a dzisiaj ważna europejska metropolia – to także idealne miejsce do biegania.

Tomasza Hopfera, wielkiego propagatora sportu, w kategorii debiut podczas Gali Biegów Masowych w Warszawie.

Krakow – a city with a thousand-year-old tradition, the former seat of Polish kings and the country’s capital, and today an important European metropolis – is also the perfect place for running. This is where Poland’s most international running events take place – the Cracovia Marathon and the Cracovia Royal Half Marathon.

During recent editions of the event, these gatherings attracted nearly a thousand international participants from all continents. Runners from all over the world are keen to combine their passion for sport with sightseeing and discovering new places. There’s no shortage of opportunities for this in Krakow.

The very first edition of the Cracovia Royal Half Marathon was honoured with the 2014 Event of the Year Award named after Tomasz Hopfer, a great advocate of sport, in the debut category at the Mass Runs Gala in Warsaw. Today, in terms of attendance, the Cracovia Royal Half Marathon attracts the largest number of participants of all the events in the Royal Running Triad, which also includes the Cracovia Marathon and the Three Mounds Run.

Over the course of a decade, the race has become a mass event of international renown. The finish line, a signature feature of the event, is situated in the dimly lit TAURON Arena Krakow – Poland’s largest sports and entertainment venue – and provides a unique setting that stays with you for a long time! Runners who have already made their debut in the Krakow Half Marathon know that a finish like this, with the cheering of the spectators gathered in the arena, is a real treat and a real endorphin rush.
