Bieg Trzech Kopców/ Three Mounds’ Run

Bieg Trzech Kopców zwieńczy dwudniowe sportowe święto w stolicy Małopolski. Już dzień wcześniej, 19 września, na uczestników czekać będą atrakcje dla całych rodzin – 19. Cracovia Maraton na Rolkach, Mini Melts Kraków Run dla najmłodszych oraz Krakowskie Forum Sportu.

Bieg Trzech Kopców wyróżnia się na tle innych zawodów. Łączy sportową rywalizację ze zwiedzaniem Krakowa z nietypowej perspektywy – przez wzgórza, zielone tereny i miejsca ważne dla historii miasta.

Uczestnicy pokonają ponad 13 kilometrów, a różnica poziomów na trasie wyniesie około 160 metrów. Niemal jedna czwarta dystansu prowadzi ścieżkami o nieutwardzonej nawierzchni. Trasa wymaga więc nie tylko szybkości i wytrzymałości, ale także umiejętnego rozłożenia sił.

Kopce Krakusa, Kościuszki i Piłsudskiego nadają trasie jej charakter. Jest to jedyny w Polsce bieg górski prowadzący przez centrum dużego miasta.

Start biegu zaplanowano na godz. 10:30 u stóp Kopca Krakusa. W trakcie biegu uczestnicy przemierzą m.in. Podgórze, Bulwary Wiślane oraz Zwierzyniec. Meta biegu zlokalizowana będzie tradycyjnie u podnóża Kopca Piłsudskiego.

The 19th PGE Three Mounds’ Run will bring a two-day sporting celebration in the capital of the Małopolska Region to a close. The day before, on 19 September, participants can enjoy attractions for the whole family, including the 19th Cracovia Marathon on Roller Skates, Mini Melts Kraków Run for children, and the Kraków Sports Forum.

The Three Mounds’ Run stands out from other sporting events. It combines athletic competition with an opportunity to explore Kraków from an unusual perspective – through its hills, green spaces and places of historical importance.

Participants will cover more than 13 kilometres, with an elevation difference of approximately 160 metres. Almost a quarter of the route runs along unpaved paths. The course therefore requires not only speed and endurance, but also careful pacing.

The Krakus, Kościuszko and Piłsudski Mounds give the race its distinctive character. It is the only mountain race in Poland to run through the centre of a major city.

The race will start at 10:30 a.m. at the foot of the Krakus Mound. Along the route, participants will pass through areas including Podgórze, the Vistula Boulevards and Zwierzyniec. The finish line will, as traditionally, be located at the foot of the Piłsudski Mound.
