Ta zabawa miała trwać parę tygodni. Może parę miesięcy. Najwyżej rok. Nie dłużej. Trwa nieprzerwanie od lat sześćdziesięciu ośmiu. W dziejach kabaretu to rekord wszechświatowy. Niestety, nie ma już Piotra Skrzyneckiego. Ale magiczne miejsce w podziemiach Pałacu pod Baranami przy Rynku Głównym dalej żyje i przyciąga tłumy. Czy to zasługa legendy, genius loci, czy talentów coraz młodszych wykonawców? Przychodzi już trzecie pokolenie widzów: córki chcą zobaczyć gdzie bawiły się ich matki, dziadkowie przyprowadzają wnuki i opowiadają o euforycznej atmosferze piwnicznego szaleństwa.

An event that is breaking world records and enjoying unprecedented popularity.

This bit of fun was supposed to last a couple of weeks. Perhaps a couple of months. A year at most. No longer. It has been going on without interruption for sixty-eight years. In the history of cabaret, this is a world record. Unfortunately, Piotr Skrzynecki is no longer with us. But this magical place in the cellars of the Pałac pod Baranami on the Main Square is still going strong and continues to attract crowds. Is it down to the legend, the genius loci, or the talents of ever-younger performers? We’re now seeing the third generation of visitors: daughters want to see where their mothers used to have fun, and grandparents bring their grandchildren along and tell them about the euphoric atmosphere of the madness down in the cellar.
