8. Krakowski Festiwal Akordeonowy/ 8th Krakow Accordion Festival

Tegoroczna edycja obejmie osiem wydarzeń, ukazujących różnorodność brzmienia i możliwości współczesnego akordeonu. W programie znalazły się m.in. koncert inauguracyjny z muzyką Karola Szymanowskiego, koncert intermedialny Conversion Teamlog oraz wieczór poświęcony tangu z udziałem artystów z Francji i Argentyny.

Ważnym punktem festiwalu będzie 13. Koncert Prawykonań, podczas którego zabrzmią nowe utwory polskich kompozytorów. W programie nie zabraknie również muzyki Astora Piazzolli, a podczas koncertu połączonego z galą konkursu filmowego muzyka improwizowana wykonywana na żywo towarzyszyć będzie projekcji niemego filmu Furman śmierci z 1921 roku.

Tegoroczna edycja to także spotkanie akordeonu z głosem, elektroniką, syntezatorem i improwizacją, a więc z formami wykraczającymi poza tradycyjne ujęcie tego instrumentu.

This year’s edition will feature eight events showcasing the diversity of sound and the possibilities of the contemporary accordion. The programme includes, amongst other things, an opening concert featuring the music of Karol Szymanowski, an intermedia concert by Conversion Teamlog, and an evening dedicated to the tango, featuring artists from France and Argentina.

A highlight of the festival will be the 13^th Concert of world premieres, featuring new works by Polish composers. The programme will also feature music by Astor Piazzolla, and during the concert – which will be combined with the film competition gala – live improvised music will accompany the screening of the 1921 silent film 'Furman śmierci' (The Coachman of Death).

This year’s edition also features the accordion alongside the voice, electronic music, the synthesiser and improvisation – in other words, forms that go beyond the traditional approach to this instrument.
