Sacrum Profanum

Między 6 a 11 listopada Kraków stanie się przestrzenią muzyki nowej, wypełnioną rytmem rytuału i barwami instrumentów z różnych stron świata. 24. edycja festiwalu Sacrum Profanum zaprezentuje wydarzenia łączące prastare tradycje z eksperymentami otwartymi na przyszłość oraz poruszy miejsca na co dzień wypełnione ciszą: między innymi Czytelnię Główną Biblioteki Jagiellońskiej. Sercem programu Sacrum Profanum 2026 będzie wspólna instalacja koreańsko-polskiej pary artystów – Si On oraz Jakuba Ziółkowskiego.

Festiwal Sacrum Profanum pozostaje zaangażowany w najbardziej aktualne i palące problemy współczesności, oddając głos artystom. Wśród tegorocznych propozycji nie zabraknie twórczych manifestów ekologicznych czy muzyki podważającej wszechwładzę algorytmów. Francuski kolektyw La Nòvia w programie konfrontującym technologie przyszłości oraz ludzki wymiar muzyki po raz pierwszy w Polsce wykona muzykę Conlona Nancarrowa i Jessiki Ekomane.

Between 6 and 11 November, Kraków will become a space for new music, filled with the rhythms of ritual and the colours of instruments from different parts of the world. The 24th edition of the Sacrum Profanum Festival will present events that bring together ancient traditions and experiments open to the future, while also bringing music to places usually filled with silence, including the Main Reading Room of the Jagiellonian Library. At the heart of the Sacrum Profanum 2026 programme will be a collaborative installation by the Korean-Polish artistic duo Si On and Jakub Ziółkowski.

The Sacrum Profanum Festival remains committed to addressing the most current and pressing issues of our time, giving artists a voice. This year’s programme will feature creative ecological manifestos as well as music challenging the dominance of algorithms. The French collective La Nòvia will present a programme exploring the relationship between future technologies and the human dimension of music, performing works by Conlon Nancarrow and Jessica Ekomane in Poland for the first time.
