Czytanie sztuki „When I lost myself the only scent I could smell was you” Zuzanny Pajowskiej

Opowiada o okolicznościach spotkania zakonnicy z klasztoru w Nimbschen i mnicha z Wittenbergi. Ona to Katarzyna von Bora, on Marcin Luter.

Staged reading of “When I lost myself the only scent I could smell was you” by Zuzanna Pajowska
A semi-finalist play in the 3rd edition of the Tadeusz Różewicz Dramaturgy Award.
“The text was inspired by an attempt to describe olfactory dimensions, as my mother permanently lost her sense of smell at a certain point in her life. This led me to search for suitable tactics and tools to describe scents through words, atmosphere and immersion. When I lost myself […] focuses on playing with the speaker’s perspective and capturing the dramatic breakdown of a romantic relationship by using aspects of olfactory description instead of the traditional narrative techniques employed in this type of melodrama. At the same time, it explores conventions for seeking out dimensions of queerness in the portrayal of lesbian love,” says the author.

Staged reading of “Luther / von Bora” by Adrian Szafrański
A semi-finalist play in the 3rd edition of the Tadeusz Różewicz Dramaturgy Award.
The action of Luther / von Bora begins in the spring of 1523 and ends in the summer of 1525. It tells the story of the circumstances surrounding the meeting between a nun from the convent in Nimbschen and a monk from Wittenberg. She is Katharina von Bora; he is Martin Luther.
Against the backdrop of the turmoil of the Reformation, priests negotiate changes in religious allegiance, while questions of faith are debated and reinterpreted. Secret operations are organised to smuggle nuns out of convents, along with blind dates with monks contemplating a change of denomination.
At the time, the Pope is not yet particularly concerned about the events unfolding in Wittenberg. Meanwhile, Martin Luther, the man behind the upheaval, who sparked considerable controversy by nailing his 95 Theses to the door of the Castle Church and quickly became widely known, is now facing the consequences of his idea.
Following the staged readings, there will be discussions with the creators, led by Joanna Oparek, a member of the Programme Council of the Tadeusz Różewicz Dramaturgy Award.
